Follow up shows are your friend. This past Sunday, Impact Wrestling aired the “Slammiversary 2017” pay per view, the final event before switching over to the Global Force Wrestling brand. Usually the TV show after a pay per view sees a spike in the viewership and ratings. Did this week’s “Impact Wrestling” follow the trend?

Alberto El Patron Joins LAX | #IMPACTICYMI July 6th, 2017

According to 411mania.com, yes it did. The show drew a .07 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 345,000 viewers, even and up 29% respectively. The viewership is roughly the same as the number from two weeks before when the show drew 342,000 viewers. This week’s show was main evented by a rematch from the pay per view as new World Champion Alberto El Patron defended against Bobby Lashley.

Opinion: As I say every single time the show does a strong audience: very good, now improve on it. Having a one off number isn’t a bad thing but things need to go up instead of just being back where they were before. That being said, this is two out of three weeks in a row with good results so things might be looking up for the promotion.
