That didn’t take long. We are in a golden age for wrestling content. While the wrestling that is available might not be your taste, there is so much material out there that you are going to find something to watch. That can make things rather fun for all kinds of fans and it can be rather exciting to see another show debut. Now we are going to be seeing another series making a comeback.

The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) has one of the richest and deepest histories in all of professional wrestling. The organization has been around since 1948 and while it has not had the greatest success in the last few decades, it has managed to hang around in one form or another. It has been having a bit of a resurgence as of late though and that will be the case again soon.

In a new interview with the Associated Press, NWA owner Billy Corgan announced that the weekly Powerrr series will be returning on Thursday March 23 at 6:05PM. The show will be airing on FITE TV as part of a “low-cost” subscription bundle and there is no word on any other outlet airing the show. FITE has also announced that the NWA will also air a pay per view on March 21 called Back To Attack.

The NWA does have a history. Check out some of their best moments from their glory days:

NWA WCW Wrestling 2/7/87 The Return of Magnum T.A

The Road Warriors vs The Fabulous Freebirds (09/28/1985)

NWA Ric Flair 02/22/1986 (BIG GOLD Debut)

Opinion: I’m glad to see the NWA back but I’m not sure how much good it is going to do with the show on a pay subscription. That is a bit more than I might be willing to do to watch the show, though I am going to have to see the details of what comes in the bundle. Either way, the most important thing is that the NWA is going to be running shows that people can see on a regular basis, which is what matters most in wrestling.
