I’d call that a burn. Back in 2019, AEW began operations and has since become the second biggest wrestling promotion in the United States if not the entire world. That is the kind of rise that you do not see take place very often, if ever at all. They also won the Wednesday Night Wars against NXT, but a lot of things have changed since then. Now possibly the most powerful person in WWE has something to say about what AEW did.

In a new interview with Ariel Helwani, Triple H spoke about the war between AEW and NXT. Triple H said that there was no pressure on NXT to beat AEW Dynamite while saying “Look, first of all, they beat our developmental system, good for them”. He went on to talk about how NXT is the college football to WWE’s NFL and how WWE wants to expand the brand around the world, starting with NXT Europe. Triple H also said that he is somewhat aware of what AEW does but he does not watch everything they produce. Instead, WWE is focusing on presenting the best product possible, including in NXT.

There is A LOT in this interview and it’s well worth the watch. Check out Triple H discuss all kinds of things in the current wrestling world:

Opinion: This is a tricky situation as while Triple H is right, what AEW Dynamite did is incredibly impressive. They went head to head with a WWE program in prime time on national cable and won more often than they lost. No one else has come close to that in over twenty years and Dynamite is still going strong today. That being said, a lot has changed since then and Dynamite has never regularly beaten or really even competed with Monday Night Raw or SmackDown, both of which are entirely different animals.

What do you think of Triple H’s comments? Could Dynamite beat one of the two major WWE shows head to head? Let us know in the comments below.
