What could have been. Stables are one of the easiest ideas in all of wrestling. You take some people with a similar status or character or really anything you choose and put them together. It is an idea that has worked for decades and always will in one way or another. That is still the case in WWE, and now we know what might have been with a stable proposed not that long ago.

Earlier this week, WWE released several wrestlers from the company, including Santana Garrett. According to Fightful Select, Garrett’s release was not a surprise to various people inside WWE. Garrett had been part of the main roster for just over a year but only appeared in three matches, including this year’s Royal Rumble. She did not have a match that lasted more than five minutes while part of the main roster.

There were several creative plans pitched for Garrett, with the most prominent being part of a stable involving Vanessa Borne and Chelsea Green on one of the two main roster shows. Both Borne and Green have since been released from the company as well. It is not clear why Garrett did not appear on television more often or where she is expected to appear next.

Garrett was good while she got the chance. Check out her time in WWE:

Bianca Belair vs. Santana Garrett: Raw, April 20, 2020

Mercedes Martinez vs. Santana Garrett: NXT Great American Bash, July 8, 2020

Santana Garrett vs. Io Shirai: WWE NXT, Dec. 18, 2019

Opinion: This really should be something that is a bit of a no brainer, but that is where the main roster comes in. For some reason WWE decided to call Garrett up and stop using her in NXT with nothing planned. That is where this whole thing seems to fall apart for WWE, as they do not seem to have any idea how they want these things to go. Such is life in WWE these days and that explains a lot of their problems.

What did you think of Garrett? Would the stable have worked? Let us know in the comments below.
