They have a plan. WWE is an international wrestling company and as a result, they tend to bring in stars from around the world. It can be a big deal when another star from a major promotion outside the United States comes in, as they can open up quite the door. Now it seems that WWE is attempting to land another one and they have been executing a plan right in front of your eyes.

WWE has reportedly been attempting to sign former IWGP World Champion Kazuchika Okada from New Japan Pro Wrestling. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a source says that WWE has been pushing Shinsuke Nakamura more frequently to show Okada that Japanese wrestlers are being treated better than they were under the Vince McMahon regime. There is no word on Okada’s level of interest in coming to WWE.

Opinion: This is something that makes sense, as there has been a not so great history for Japanese wrestlers in WWE. They have been pushed over the years, but it has not always gone so well. WWE making a run at Okada is certainly an interesting twist and if it means more of Nakamura, good for him, as he has been sitting on the sidelines, or at least in the midcard, for a long while now.
