They Have A Plan: Update On WWE's New Method Of Announcing Premium Live Events

They have a plan for that. WWE does a lot of different things throughout the course of a year, including running their biggest events about once a month. It can make a big difference when you see one of them being announced, especially if it is in an area that does not get many live events. Now it seems that WWE has a fresh strategy for making such announcements.

Over the last few weeks, WWE has announced the return of Payback and Fastlane premium live events after both were on hiatus. According to Fightful Select, this is part of WWE’s new strategy for announcing such events. The plan is to announce them later in an effort to maximize the attention the shows receive. The other aspect is to announce each one at a time rather than in batches in an attempt to make each it’s own “moment”. There is no word on when the next event will be announced.

Opinion: This is a twist from WWE and that is not the worst thing in the world. I can see WWE wanting to make things more interesting with their lower level shows as there isn’t as much hype around Payback as there is something like Summerslam. It’s a nice change of pace from the norm, which is what WWE seems to have been trying to do more of in recent months.
