Ouch. Wrestling is one of the most dangerous forms of entertainment that you’re going to find in the world. Going out there every night and hitting each other in the face as hard as the wrestlers do means there is always a risk of an injury, such as a broken bone, and there’s really no way around it. That can be made even more dangerous when you’re having an especially physical match, and unfortunately there was another injury at a recent major show.

There’s a good chance this didn’t make things better.

Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch push Undisputed ERA to the limit: NXT TakeOver: Chicago II (WWE Network)

According to PWInsider.com, Oney Lorcan suffered a broken orbital bone during the closing sequence of the Tag Team Title match between Lorcan and Danny Burch vs. the Undisputed Era at NXT Takeover: Chicago II. Lorcan is currently scheduled to undergo surgery for the injury and there is no word on how long he will be out of action. He wasn’t at the recent NXT television tapings.

Opinion: Egads what a nasty looking injury. That’s the kind of injury that kept Austin Aries and Brian Kendrick on the shelf for a long time so hopefully this one isn’t nearly as severe. The surgery is already a bad sign, but you never can tell how long it’s going to take someone to heal from something like this. NXT is the kind of place where you can swap people in and out rather quickly, which might mean Lorcan losing his spot in a hurry. At least he went out in a rather good match though.

How long do you expect Lorcan to be out? What will he do when he’s back? Let us know in the comments below.
