That’s the plan. We are about two and a half months away from WrestleMania 40 and that means it is time to start getting ready for the biggest show of the year. That includes getting some of the bigger matches ready for the card, including the title matches. Those are the important things to cover and now it seems that WWE has an idea for one of the top matches on the show.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: BREAKING: Seth Rollins Reportedly Suffers Torn MCL, Partially Torn Mensicus
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan for WrestleMania is to have Seth Rollins face CM Punk, though it is not clear if the match would be for the World Heavyweight Championship. There is also no word on how the match would have been set up. However, the plans may be in jeopardy, as Rollins has suffered a knee injury and his status is not clear. Rollins is scheduled to address his status next week on Monday Night Raw.
They do have a history. Check out what Rollins and Punk have done in recent weeks:
Opinion: I’m not sure how much of this was a surprise as Punk vs. Rollins might as well have been advertised over the last few weeks. It’s a huge match that feels like it belongs on the biggest stage. WWE certainly has major plans for Punk but those plans might have to be changed due to Rollins’ injury. The match certainly sounds good though and hopefully we get to see it, preferably at WrestleMania.
