I’d say they’ve earned it. There are a lot of wrestlers under the WWE umbrella but they are not all on the same level. WWE has grown to such a point that they have all kinds of rosters performing at once and several of them are on major television networks. Some of them are even in prime time and now some of the wrestlers on those shows are going to be compensated at the same level.

Two of the biggest stories of 2019 were centered around NXT. From a non-kayfabe perspective, the television show was moved to the USA Network, marking the first time ever that the show was regularly aired anywhere but the WWE Network. Other than that, on the kayfabe side, NXT won the battle for Brand Supremacy at Survivor Series, defeating Monday Night Raw and SmackDown in the process. That is the kind of thing that earns them a reward, which they are now getting.

According to Fightful.com, NXT talents who sign new three year deals with the company will be receiving “significant” pay raises. These raises come on contracts signed after the show was moved over to the USA Network. While there are no specifics on how much higher the pay will be increased, the increases do not make the salaries equal to their Monday Night Raw and SmackDown counterparts. Also, not all wrestlers who were offered new deals accepted them.

I’d say they’ve earned the raises. Check out some of the stars of NXT:

Regal sets Riddle–Dain rematch for next week on USA Network: NXT Exclusive, Sept. 18, 2019

Opinion: This is one of those things that seems overdue. I know that NXT is still the developmental program, but when you are airing on the same network at the same time as Monday Night Raw, a lot of that developmental status goes away. How developmental can they be when they are wrestling on prime time on a major network? The wrestlers have earned these raises and hopefully they are rather strong.
