This could cause some marital issues. Wrestling couples are fairly few and far between. Much like any other kind of couple, their relationships can be anywhere from incredibly successful to rocky, with the stress of being a wrestler making it all the worse. It can be even worse if you do not work for the same promotion, where you could at least be with your significant other more often than not. That may not be the case for a current couple in the near future.

In a new post to Instagram, Maria Kanellis announced that she has not asked for her release from WWE. This announcement comes the day after her husband Mike requested his release from WWE due to not being able to get in the ring enough. In addition to the announcement, Maria also gave a brief history of her husband’s addiction issues, explaining that WWE did not send him to rehab, nor did he go to rehab whatsoever. Mike has been accused of using WWE to pay for his rehab and then leaving the company. There is no word on what Maria will be doing when she returns from maternity leave.

This might have something to do with her status. Check out Maria making a huge announcement:

Opinion: I’m not sure what is going on with this whole thing but if the two of them managed to get WWE to pay for Maria’s pregnancies and to help Mike with his issues, that’s rather smart of the two of them. They haven’t done much in their time in WWE but maybe the market for them will be stronger if they leave. Either way, they have certainly been interesting since showing up in the company and the way they leave may be just as interesting, which is quite the accomplishment.

What do you expect next for the two of them? Will WWE release Mike from his contract? Let us know in the comments below.
