It could be awhile. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the NXT roster and most of them are incredibly talented. It isn’t easy to make it onto NXT television and it means a lot to get a spot on the show. Therefore, it is kind of sad to see someone losing their spot, but in this case someone is leaving because they seem primed to come back in a big way, at least in theory.

This week’s edition of NXT featured a match between Ridge Holland and Timothy Thatcher. Holland won the match, with a brawl breaking out after, involving Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch on Holland’s side and Tommaso Ciampa helping Thatcher. The numbers game got the better of Thatcher and Ciampa, with Holland hitting Thatcher in the arm with his baton. Holland also hit Thatcher in the throat, which left Thatcher down. NXT has since sent out a tweet saying that Thatcher will be out indefinitely due to the attack. There is no word on when Thatcher will return to NXT TV.

Thatcher has been pretty great. Check out this week’s match and what is going to be back in NXT:

Ridge Holland punishes Timothy Thatcher with help of Dunne, Burch & Lorcan: WWE NXT, Aug. 24, 2021

Matt Riddle vs. Timothy Thatcher – Fight Pit w/ guest referee Kurt Angle: WWE NXT, May 27, 2020

Oney Lorcan vs. Timothy Thatcher: NXT Great American Bash, July 1, 2020

Opinion: This seems to be building to something and that very well may be the next WarGames match. If Thatcher is gone for a few weeks and then comes back for the big fight, they very well could be able to make it to the double cages in the fall. That might be a bit too far off, so the Fight Pit might have to suffice. Either way, this has me interested and the people hitting each other really hard always works.
