It happens occasionally. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and some of them can be rather serious. Something can happen out of nowhere and result in a match being changed almost entirely. That appeared to be the situation last weekend in one of the biggest matches of the year, but it seems that things were not quite as bad as they appeared to be.

Last weekend at WWE Bad Blood, Drew McIntyre met CM Punk inside Hell In A Cell, which saw both wrestles busted open. This included McIntyre, whose cut was not planned and came as a result of a toolbox shot to the head. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there had been talk of stopping the match due to the blood but WWE did not stop the match as it was inside the Cell. McIntyre is said to have made the call to continue the match and showed no signs of a concussion and was “in control” throughout the match.

Opinion: This is one of those things that could have gone either way, as McIntyre was absolutely gushing blood. There was little that could be done to stop the match in such a situation and thankfully McIntyre was a good bit better than he looked. McIntyre’s head was busted open in a serious way and that could have resulted in quite a different situation if anything had gone south.
