Ouch: Major Health Update On Kenny Omega, Not Going Well

It has to be done. There are certain injuries that come up in wrestling over and over again. No matter what is going on, there is always a chance that someone could get hurt and it is the kind of thing that wrestlers live with every day. At the same time, there is always the chance of something completely unrelated what happens in the ring going wrong. That is the case with one of the biggest stars in wrestling today.

Kenny Omega has been out of action since December 2023 following a diagnosis of diverticulitis. Since then, Omega has been considering different kinds of treatment. Now though, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Omega is likely to undergo surgery to repair the condition, though he has not officially made up his mind yet. The current plan is for Omega to return for a feud with Kazuchika Okada, though it is not clear when that will happen.

Opinion: Whether you like Omega or not, this is a rather serious situation and you never want to see someone put in this kind of condition. Omega is likely to be out of action for a long time to come and now there is little that can be done but wait for him to be back to ring health. Hopefully that is sooner than later, as Omega has missed far too much time from the ring due to his string of injuries. That’s not his fault, but it is a shame that he has been so inactive.
