It can happen to anyone. An injury is one of the worst things that can take place in wrestling as it not only derails creative plans, but more importantly can stall a wrestler’s career in its tracks. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: FULL MATCH: Stephanie Vaquer Makes WWE Debut At Live Event
This week on AEW Collision, Trent Beretta interfered in the main event, leading to Orange Cassidy and Kyle O’Reilly losing the match. Following the match, Cassidy attacked Beretta with a wrench. According to Fightful Select by way of Wrestlingnews.co, This was due to Beretta being injured since Double Or Nothing, with the attack being used as a way to write him off television. There is no word as to the nature of his injury or when he will be able to return. Beretta was reportedly set for a push prior to his injury.
That would hurt. Check out the attack, plus Beretta before the injury:
Opinion: That is terrible to hear as Beretta was starting to figure things out as a villain before he was put on the shelf. Hopefully he is able to get back in the ring sooner or later, but writing someone off almost two months after they were unable to compete is not a good sign. Beretta is rather talented, but he won’t be able to showcase that until he heals up, which could take some time.
What do you think of Beretta? What should be next for him when he returns to the ring? Let us know in the comments below.
