That’s a new one. There are all kinds of wrestling shows every week and some of them are not exactly traditional. Every so often you will see some kind of a unique concept to change things up a bit. Those shows can offer something different, with a certain twist on what you are usually going to see. That is going to be the case again later this year as WWE has something new in mind.

This week at the WWE WrestleMania 40 press event, WWE announced that “Speed”, a new weekly series, will begin airing this spring. The show will air exclusively on X and will feature matches with five minute time limits and a scoring system. There were no other details announced for the show. WWE ran a trial version before Monday Night Raw last year but nothing was ever broadcast.

Opinion: Now this has me interested as it is the kind of a concept that you do not see very often. WWE has rarely gone into the idea of a points structure or anything close and making the matches fast is that much more interesting. Hopefully WWE has something for this, but it seems like a rather low level series, which is not a good idea. Maybe they have something here and it is definitely a new idea.
