We just can’t get rid of these guys. Over the last few weeks, the WWE has been talking about the final match for the Shield. Between the variety of last matches for Dean Ambrose and farewell moments for the trio, there have been all kinds of different goodbyes for the three of them. As it turns out, all of those were unofficial because they were building up to the real final appearance.

As announced on WWE.com, the Shield will team together one last time on Sunday night in a house show from Moline, Illinois called The Shield’s Last Ride at 9:30pm EST. The match will feature the team in a six man tag against yet to be named opponents. In addition to this, the show will also include Finn Balor defending the Intercontinental Title against an opponent to be named. Dean Ambrose’s contract is set to expire later this month and he is expected to take some time off from the company.

Last week’s wasn’t official. Check out the Shield’s goodbye from after last week’s Monday Night Raw:

Opinion: Is anyone else getting a little sick of these things? The Shield seems like they’ve had their final everything now, including Fastlane’s main event where they teamed together one last time, at least on pay per view. I don’t really need to see this but I can understand the idea of throwing it out there for the big fans. The special is likely only to run about an hour so letting the fans have one more match is hardly asking a lot.
