They’re running out of time. We’re less than two weeks away before the Elimination Chamber pay per view but you wouldn’t know it based on the way the WWE is using their television. Coming out of this week’s SmackDown Live, only three matches were set, with none of them coming from Monday Night Raw. 205 Live was there to pick up some of the slack though.

This week on 205 Live, Akira Tozawa became the new #1 contender to the Cruiserweight Title when he defeated Humberto Carrillo, Lio Rush and Cedric Alexander in a fatal four way match. Tozawa’s title match will come on February 17 at Elimination Chamber. This is Tozawa’s second title shot in less than a month as he received another shot at Murphy’s title in a four way at the Royal Rumble.

The only way to get a title shot. Check out Tozawa’s path to the pay per view:

Tozawa vs. Alexander vs. Carrillo vs. Rush - Fatal 4-Way Match: WWE 205 Live, Feb. 5, 2019

Opinion: This works as well as anyone else, even if it’s just for a short term, one off challenger. Tozawa is a former Cruiserweight Champion and has some great charisma so it makes sense to give him the shot on such short notice. I doubt he’ll win the title but it wouldn’t be the biggest shock in the world. He’s not going to be a challenger who just comes and goes, which is something the show could use.
