That’s a different direction. At the moment, WWE and the wrestling landscape as a whole are undergoing some major changes. There are various promotions, television shows and wrestlers moving all over the place and it can be a little hard to keep track of who goes where. WWE is even producing new series, though one of them does not seem to be going forward.

According to Casey Michael of Squared Circle Sirens, WWE has canceled production on their previously announced Superstar Search series. The show would have been a modern version of the WWE Diva Search and was being co-produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, which has worked with WWE on several of its previous reality shows. It is not clear why the show was canceled, as the production had already started.

This is what the original version produced. Check out a match featuring the first winner:

Opinion: I’m not sure about this one, but it might be best for the sake of the women’s division that this show isn’t moving forward. The original Diva Searches were a nightmare for the division as they did produce a lot of names, but they produced a lot of names who weren’t there because of their wrestling abilities. We’re in a different world now and that kind of thing, assuming it is where this was going, would be a huge step backwards.
