Another night all for them. Earlier this year, WWE presented the second annual Mae Young Classic, a thirty two woman tournament featuring some of the greatest female talents in the wrestling world today. It was an incredible showcase with all kinds of new stars being created and showcased for the wrestling world. Well it might not be another year before we get to another tournament.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE may be considering a Queen of the Ring tournament at some point in 2019. The tournament, which would be modeled on the King of the Ring tournament, may be either on television or pay per view due to the success of this year’s Evolution pay per view. There is no word on whether or not this would replace the Mae Young Classic.

There’s a good chance you might see some of these names again. Check out the introduction of this year’s Mae Young Classic introduction:

Opinion: I’m not much of a fan of tournaments, though the specifics about this one might help things a bit. If this has both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live talents included, it would certainly be better than having the same standard matches that we can see on any given episode of weekly TV. As long as this is set up right it could be interesting, but just being a tournament puts some restraints on the show out of the starting blocks. We’ll see how it goes, but it could be fine.
