One Down: WWE Officially Announces First Match For Backlash

That’s one. We are done with WrestleMania 40 and that means it is time to start getting ready for everything else this year. That includes preparing for the next major show, which is going to be a unique show in its own right. WWE has already started setting the stage for the show and now we officially have one of the bigger matches of the card officially announced.

WWE will present its next premium live event on May 4 with Backlash. This week on Monday Night Raw, it was officially announced that Jey Uso will challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship on the card. Uso earned the title shot last week on Monday Night Raw by winning a fatal four way. This is the first match officially announced for the card.

Backlash has been a big show over the years. Check out some moments from its history:

Opinion: I don’t think this is the biggest surprise but what matters the most is having the match officially set up. That lets WWE have some more time to get the match ready, which is only going to last so long because Backlash is coming up. This will be Priest’s first title defense and that should make for a good start to his title reign, as the fans will be behind Uso in his title shot.
