That’s the plan. There are so many major WWE events that it can be difficult to find a way to make them all feel special. WWE has to find a major match for every show and that can run into some problems. Things are getting even more complicated this year as WWE is bringing in a new series of specials and the first is coming up soon. Now we know what we could be expecting on the show.

On December 14, WWE will present the revival of Saturday Night’s Main Event, marking the show’s return after 14 years. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is planning a WWE Title match with Cody Rhodes defending against Kevin Owens. As a result, the two are not expected to have matches at Survivor Series on November 30. Owens recently turned on Rhodes and attacked Rhodes’ friend Randy Orton.

Opinion: It makes sense that WWE is planning something like this, as the match has been set up for the last few months. Rhodes is the biggest star in WWE today and having him defend his title against one of the top villains at a major show makes sense. The story is certainly there and WWE might have something in the way of putting together a special match on an important show.
