Please don’t be bad. Injuries can come out of nowhere in wrestling and you never know what is going to happen to someone at any time. A move that has been done hundreds of times can go badly one time and change everything in the blink of an eye. That can change all kinds of things in the future, and now we might be seeing that again with a rather prominent reigning champion.

According to PWInsider.com, Ring Of Honor Women’s Champion Athena suffered a leg injury during an event taping on Thursday. Athena was low bridged to the floor during her match with Vita Van and came up favoring her leg. The match went to the finish shortly thereafter and Athena needed help getting to the back without being able to put weight on her leg. There is no word on how severe here injury might be or what it could mean for the title going forward.

Opinion: Unfortunately there is little more that can be done here other than wait, as this could be something rather serious. Athena has been champion for well over a year now and shows no signs of slowing down, but unfortunately this could be a big deal about the future of the title. Hopefully things are better than they seem and she is able to stay in the ring, but a knee injury can be all kinds of trouble.
What do you think of Athena? Who should take the title from her? Let us know in the comments below.
