That’s kind of the point. As popular as NXT is, they have another and bigger purpose. NXT is still the official developmental promotion of WWE, meaning that they are there to supply the main roster shows with new stars. That is something that can be rather hit or miss, but it certainly interesting to see what happens when someone gets the call up. We might be getting two of them this week.

There are very few wrestlers who are as controversial as King Corbin. While he has a great ability to be annoying, he tends to be on television a lot and does not get the strongest reception. Even WWE once made it a plot point that Corbin was to blame for a lot of the show’s problems. Corbin is still a big player on SmackDown though, and now he might be getting someone else involved in his story.

According to Fightful Select, NXT wrestlers Danny Burch and Killian Dain were scheduled to appear on SmackDown as part of Corbin’s feud with Matt Riddle. However, those plans may have been changed due to a series of rewrites to the show. It is not clear if the two of them will be appearing this week or whose side they would be on in the show. Burch’s most recent NXT appearance took place on June 3 while Dain’s was on July 22.

Both stars have some potential. Check out what they might bring to the main roster:

Opinion: This is something that could be rather interesting if they actually go that way. One thing that WWE has going for it is the depth of their roster as I could go for seeing something different on the main shows. You have all of these people who could hold their own on television so why keep running the same matches into the ground? Use your resources in a better way.
