That’s someone. One of the things that has been missing from wrestling over most of 2020 has been live fans. There is something severely lacking from a show without a live crowd and it hurts things quite a bit. It is an understandable situation at the moment as there are only so many ways around the Coronavirus restrictions, but WWE may be trying something different this weekend.
This weekend, NXT is presenting their thirty first Takeover event. The series has one of the best track records in all of wrestling as they have yet to have an actually bad show. However, this one is up against a major wall as the NXT roster has been hit hard by a Coronavirus outbreak and the show has not had the most time to build up. They might have an ace in the hole though.
According to Fightful Select, there will be a small crowd in attendance at the Performance Center for Sunday’s Takeover: 31. The crowd will consist of friends and family members of select wrestlers, though it is not clear how many fans will be in attendance in total. This comes after news broke that NXT was moving from Full Sail University to the Performance Center beginning with Sunday’s show.
Crowds can be a big deal. Check out what they can do when they are available:
Opinion: This has to be some good news for WWE as any show is only going to be able to get so much out of a completely empty arena. Having the employees around the ring helped a little bit, but there is something different about having people who are not part of the company’s payroll. Maybe this is the solution that they have been needing, but it should certainly be an improvement.
What do you think of the idea? How much will it help the show? Let us know in the comments below.
