Update your calendars. There are a lot of wrestling shows throughout the year and some are going to be better received than others. That has always been the case but with the ability to see so much more content than at any other point in history, these shows have to stand out even more than before. That is going to be the case again but at a double level compared to previous efforts.

There are very few series in wrestling history as successful as NXT Takeover. With over thirty entries in the series, there has yet to be a truly bad one and it has produced one classic after another. The shows always feel like a big deal and hearing one being announced is one of the most exciting moments of the year. This week, things felt even bigger than usual.

During this week’s NXT, General Manager William Regal announced that the next Takeover will be the first ever two night edition. The show, called Takeover: Stand And Deliver, will take place on Wednesday April 7 on USA and on Thursday April 8 on Peacock. The first night will go head to head with AEW Dynamite. There have been no matches announced for the show as of yet.

Takeover is quite the show. Check out some of its amazing history:

Top 25 TakeOver Moments: NXT Top 5 Special Edition, May 26, 2019

Epic TakeOver matches you forgot happened: NXT Top 5, April 28, 2019

Most epic TakeOver entrances: NXT Top 5, June 24, 2018

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could make for a rather interesting weekend as WWE is going as hard as they can with everything over WrestleMania season. It is going to be a rather busy time but that is the kind of thing that makes it feel all the more special. I could certainly go for a two night Takeover as a one off idea, but hopefully this does not become a regular trend.
