What a twist. NXT is a different kind of a wrestling promotion and that makes it a little more interesting. While most promotions are designed to make you watch the show and spend your money to do so on occasion, NXT’s job is to get people ready for WWE’s main shows. That is easier said than done in some cases, but they have to try some weird moves at times. They did that again on Sunday.

The main event of Takeover: 31 saw Kyle O’Reilly challenging Finn Balor for the NXT Title. The match was a big stepping stone for O’Reilly as he tried to show that he was more than just one heck of a tag team wrestler. While O’Reilly came up short, he more than showed he could hang at this level. However, just because the main event was over did not mean the night was over for O’Reilly or the rest of the Undisputed Era.

After the main event was over, O’Reilly and Balor shook hands. Once Balor left, Ridge Holland appeared in the stands with the Undisputed Era’s Adam Cole over his shoulder and unconscious. Holland dropped Cole onto the ground and left, as the rest of the Undisputed Era ran out to check on Cole. Holland has only been a regular in NXT for a few weeks now, having come over from NXT UK over the summer.

It was a big main event. Check out the main event and what is coming for the Undisputed Era:

Opinion: This should be an interesting twist as Holland has been pushed as a big deal in a short order and might be a major deal in NXT for the future. With Karrion Kross out of action, another monster might not be the worst idea. The Undisputed Era are the kind of people who can make almost anyone look good and that is exactly what you need for Holland at the moment.
