Plans change. We are less than a week away from Summerslam, which will be one of the biggest events that WWE presents all years. However, it is not the only event coming up in the near future, as WWE will be presenting Payback the following month. There are already several stories taking place in WWE, and it seems that WWE had considered a match for either Summerslam or Payback before landing somewhere in the middle.

One of the major feuds over the summer has been Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch. Stratus defeated Lynch at Night Of Champions with the help of Zoey Star, leaving Lynch wanting a rematch. Following some interference in their rematch this week on Monday Night Raw, a third match between the two was announced for the August 14 Monday Night Raw. According to Fightful Select, WWE discussed the match for both Summerslam and Payback on September 2 before announcing the match for August 14. There is no word on why WWE made their final decision.

Opinion: What matters here is getting the best match possible and that might be what they have done. I’m curious to see how the match goes, but not having it on one of the major events is a little strange. Either way, we should be in for a nice blowoff to one of the bigger feuds, as the two have been set up for a heck of a showdown and that is what we should be getting in two weeks.
