Cut it down? The biggest wrestling story of the year has seen Endeavor buying WWE, which will be merged with UFC into a huge company. That brings WWE into a completely new world, as it has never had an owner other than Vince McMahon before. The question now becomes where things are going in the future, and now we do have an idea about people leaving the new company.

WWE CEO Nick Khan spoke with Lightshed Partners and discussed Endeavor’s future plans. According to Khan, the new company will be looking to cut costs of at least $50 million, including through integrating various teams. Khan also said that Endeavor was NOT looking to cut people involved in presenting WWE’s product. He stated that “if Triple H and Kevin Dunn want to evolve it, great, but in terms of cutbacks there, that’s not what we’re looking to do.” There is no word on who might be cut from WWE.

WWE has had some different cuts over the years. Check out some of the unkindest:

Opinion: I don’t think there is any surprise at the fact that the new company is going to have various cuts, though implying that they are not looking to cut wrestlers is rather interesting. I can understand the idea of merging some departments together as there are things that will not need to be there, but $50 million of cuts is a lot without getting into the wrestlers’ salaries. It could be quite the interesting change of pace, though we could be in for a bunch of moves behind the scenes.
