Not Right Now? Major Update On CM Punk Possibly Returning To WWE

Maybe later. There are certain wrestlers who have less than positive reputations despite their abilities. These are people who have gotten in some trouble over the years for one reason or another and can be quite the issue. It can make for some interesting moments when such a wrestler is rumored to be returning, but now it does not seem to be taking place.

Earlier this month, a story broke that CM Punk was in discussions to return to WWE, with a hoe that he would make his return at Survivor Series in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois at Survivor Series in November. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE “turned down” a chance to have Punk return, with Vince McMahon, Triple H and Nick Khan deciding that the negatives outweighed the positives. There is always the chance that things could change, but it is not happening at the moment.

Opinion: This is one of those situations where I’ll believe Punk isn’t showing up when Survivor Series goes off the air. While there is a very good chance that he does not appear, there is always the chance that WWE will change its mind. That being said, it doesn’t look likely right now and that might be for the best, as Punk is not going to be the most well received backstage.
