Flashback? There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout history and some of them are more than a bit unique. One of the easiest ways to have someone stand out is through their physical appearance. If someone looks more impressive than just about everyone else, they are going to stand out. It seems that one of the most physically impressive characters in history was almost brought back.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That’s An Honor: AEW’s Tony Khan Gives Bryan Danielson Quite The Special honor

According to Fightful Select, AEW considered bringing back Paul Wight’s Captain Insano character from the Waterboy for a match at All In. Insano would have teamed with the Hardys against the team of Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh. However, the match was scrapped as Jeff Hardy was not allowed to travel to the United Kingdom. There is no word on if AEW could run the match in the future. Wight has wrestled a handful of matches for AEW since coming to the company in 2021.

It would have been something. Check out the people involved:

Opinion: This is one of those things that will appeal to a certain niche of fans, but I’m not sure if that niche is bigger than people who would be more interested in seeing Wight as his usual self. It’s not a terrible idea, but it feels like something that is a bit of overkill when you already have a major name returning to the ring. Either way, we might see the match in the future, with an All Out match not being out of the question.

What do you think of the idea? How would the match go? Let us know in the comments below.
