Not For Long: Update On Roman Reigns’ WWE Status Following WrestleMania 40

Enjoy him while you can. Roman Reigns has dominated WWE for the better part of four years and has cleaned out almost everyone in the WWE main event scene. That has helped turn Reigns into the biggest star in the company and it earns him some special attention. Now we might be seeing some of that attention in action, which will not be the case for Reigns himself.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Reigns is expected to take some time off from WWE following WrestleMania 40. Reigns’ next match would not be expected to take place until WWE returns to Saudi Arabia. While not confirmed, that show is likely to be held in late May. Reigns is currently set to defend his WWE Universal Title against Cody Rhodes on Night Two of WrestleMania 40.

Opinion: This isn’t exactly shocking as Reigns has a history of taking long stretches off from WWE, especially while he is the reigning champion. Reigns will likely be the top star in WWE for a long time to come and that should make for some interesting situations. It may be time to move the title away from him though, and that is going to be quite the shakeup, whenever it happens.
