It’s time for a change. Over the last few years, WWE has maintained a working relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This has resulted in a series of events held in the kingdom, some of which have involved major moments and matches. WWE is heading back there next month, but now it seems that things are not going to go as they were originally planned.

WWE has announced that the next Saudi Arabia show will be Night Of Champions, which will be held on May 27. This is a change from the originally announced King And Queen Of The Ring event. According to PWInsider.com, the change was a creative choice designed to bring back Night Of Champions (last used in 2015) and bring it to an international audience. There is no word on if the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will still be held.

Night Of Champions does have a history. Check out some of its versions over the years:

Opinion: The name change isn’t that drastic of a move but it is a little weird to see WWE make such a shift so close to the event. Night Of Champions will work fine for an event though, even if it is unlikely that all of the titles will be defended on the same show. It does seem like WWE has shifted more towards having these events be their regular major shows which just happen to take place in Saudi Arabia, so things are at least improving a bit.
