They’re not coming. AEW has changed the wrestling landscape in a huge way, as there is now a second major wrestling promotion in the American market. The company has allowed wrestlers to be on a big stage that has nothing to do with WWE and that opens up a lot of doors. WWE will regularly pursue some of these wrestlers, but now some of them appear to be off the market.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Down By Two: Roman Reigns Has Lost Something Else From His Title Reign
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE reportedly believed they had a “good shot” of signing Kenny Omega as of a few months back. However, those hopes have since “gone cold” and Omega is expected to re-sign with AEW, along with his fellow Elite members the Young Bucks and Hangman Page. There is no word on how much interest Omega had in signing with WWE.

Opinion: I’m not sure how much of a surprise this is, as I don’t think I could have imagined Omega, or any of the Elite for that matter, signing with WWE. They have a pretty great thing going on in AEW and it would have been a little bit nuts to jump over to the competition where they would have had to start from scratch. This should wrap up the speculation on their futures, at least for the time being.
