He’s fine. There are all kinds of angles that a wrestling promotion can run and the best ones are the kind that look like something out of the ordinary happened while staying completely on plan. That can be rather tricky to pull off but when it works, it can come off very well. That seems to have been the case again this week, as an angle on Monday Night Raw went as planned.

This week’s Monday Night Raw was scheduled to include a tag team match between Indus Sher and Cedric Alexander/Shelton Benjamin. That did not happen though as Sher attacked before the bell, leaving Alexander unable to continue and the match did not take place. According to PWInsider.com, this was exactly the plan, as WWE wants Sher to appear strong before a rumored show later this year in India.

Opinion: If that is what WWE wanted from the segment, it could have gone a lot worse. The beatdown made Sher look like a couple of monsters as they took out some former Tag Team Champions in short order. With WWE seemingly interested in trying to get a foothold in India, pushing Sher is not a bad idea whatsoever. This was a good step for the team, but they have a long way to go.
