And so, it’s over. Title changes can make a huge different for everyone involved in a match. Not only is there a new champion crowned, meaning they are able to go into a very different direction. At the same time, it means that someone has lost their championship and that could put things on a very different path. We might be seeing that again after a special reign came to an end.

This weekend, AEW presented All Out 2023, which featured a main event of Jon Moxley defeating Orange Cassidy to win the International Title. Opinion: This is an interesting choice, as Cassidy has held the title for such a long time but lost in his first match against a main event level talent. It might not be the most logical way to go, but at least Cassidy got quite a few wins stacked up during the reigns. At some point AEW has to decide if they want to move him up the ladder, and this would suggest that it is certainly on their wish list.
