All time. There have been several titles throughout wrestling history and some of them are incredibly prestigious honors for a wrestler to earn. It can mean a lot when a wrestler wins a title but it can arguably mean more for someone to hold it for a long time. Now a reigning champion has done something no one has done in the title’s history as he continues to rewrite the record book.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Long Time: AEW Star Expected To Miss 6-12 Months Following Major Injury

The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Gunther successfully defend the Intercontinental Title against Jey Uso. With his victory, Gunther has held the title for 620 days, setting a new all time record for most combined days as champion. Gunther surpasses Pedro Morales’ record of 619 days (though some records list it at 617), originally set in 1983. Gunther also holds the record for longest individual reign with the title.

That is a special record. Check out how Gunther got there:

Opinion: We are reaching the point where it is hard to argue against Gunther being the best Intercontinental Champion of all time. While he might not have the most reigns, being this dominant for this long is incredibly impressive, as literally no one in history has been champion as long as he has. That is an amazing accomplishment and now the only thing to wonder is who manages to break the streak.

What do you think of the reign? Who should take the title from Gunther? Let us know in the comments below.
