No more? Retirement is a weird concept in wrestling as you never know if someone is really going to stay away from the ring. There are times when wrestlers say they are done but then come back later. The first announcement can always make for an interesting moment though, even if it is from someone who has not been around in a long time. That seems to be the case again.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: One More Run: Former WWE Tag Team Reuniting After Seven Years Apart
During an interview with Chris Val Vliet, former AEW star Brandi Rhodes announced that she was retired from in-ring competition. Rhodes said that while she could wrestle, it was better for her family that she didn’t. There is no word on if she plans to make any other wrestling related appearances. Rhodes’ most recent match took place in January 2022 on AEW Dark: Elevation.
Rhodes did have a run in AEW. Check out some of her time in the company:
Opinion: Rhodes might not have been the biggest star in AEW but she certainly was someone who was a big deal at the start of the promotion. At the very least, she seemed to be trying to do something to become better in the ring, which is one of the hardest things to do. Hopefully she gets to do what she wants now and if that does not include getting in the ring, so be it.
What do you think of Rhodes’ career? What was the best part of her career? Let us know in the comments below.
