No Chance: Former WWE Star Reportedly Quit Rather Than Work For Vince McMahon

That did it. There have been all kinds of changes throughout WWE in recent months but the biggest would be the sale of the company to Endeavor. As part of the sale agreement though, Vince McMahon will remain Chairman of the Board. This comes after McMahon went through quite the scandal and previously announced his retirement from the company. It seems that one wrestler is no longer around due to the changes.

This weekend, Eric Young made a surprise return to Impact Wrestling, appearing at their Slammiversary event and marking his return to the promotion. According to Fightful Select, Young had signed a new deal with WWE around November of last year. Young then requested his release in April due to not wanting to work for McMahon. This came as Young reportedly had “moral, creative and personal” issues regarding McMahon, though it is not clear what they specifically were.

Opinion: I would be stunned if Young was the only person who felt like this about working for McMahon, though seeing someone actually turn down this kind of a career opportunity is something else entirely. There is something to be said about someone being willing to follow their own convictions to that extent and if that is what Young wants to do, good for him for having that kind of courage.
