Road trip. There are certain wrestling shows that are more important than others and WWE does a good job at making them feel special. Some of the company’s events have a long history with all kinds of moments taking place over the years. It can be exciting when these shows are added to the WWE calendar and one of the biggest is getting a little twist next time.
WWE has announced that the 2022 Royal Rumble will be taking place at The Dome in St. Louis on Saturday January 29, 2022. This will be the first time in the show’s thirty plus year history that the event has been held on a Saturday. There is no word on why the change was made, but it comes after Summerslam was held on a Saturday for the first time in its history earlier this year.
This is pretty cool. Check out some great Royal Rumble moments from years past:
Opinion: I’m not sure why the show is being held on a Saturday but I could certainly go for this becoming a regular tradition. Having these major events on Sunday night has not made a lot of sense for a long time now and it would be great to have this become the new norm. The Royal Rumble is a special event and it means we are on the Road to WrestleMania, so maybe we are in for something big.
What do you think of the change? Who do you have winning the Royal Rumbles? Let us know in the comments below.
