They have something in mind. One of the most important ways that WWE continues moving forward is by updating its roster. Every so often, the company needs some new stars to be added into the mix to create new matches and stories. This can include bringing in someone new or building up someone who has never gotten a big chance. The latter seems to be the case this time around.
The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez defeat Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the win is part of WWE’s attempt to make Rodriguez into a big star. There is no word on if that means the team will be split up at any time in the future or if Rodriguez will be broken out as a singles star.
Opinion: You can certainly see the way Rodriguez is being presented in recent months and WWE seems to know what they have with her. That is the kind of thing that WWE does not get to do very often and it would be smart to push Rodriguez as well as they can. The women’s division can always use some fresh blood and Rodriguez did well enough in NXT to warrant at least a shot on the main roster.
What do you think of Rodriguez? How big of a star could she be? Let us know in the comments below.
