This is the new normal. We’re less than two weeks removed from Takeover: Toronto and it’s already time to start getting ready for the next edition. According to WWE’s Twitter, tickets will be going on sale later this week for Takeover: San Antonio, which will take place on January 28, 2017, the day before Royal Rumble.

Takeovers taking place during the Big Four pay per view weekends has become the new norm and the Royal Rumble will be the last Big Four show to switch to the new format. These are the biggest events on NXT’s calendar and their pace has picked up a bit, especially with the connection to the main roster shows.

You had to know this was coming and there’s nothing wrong with it. Tying NXT and WWE together even more than they already were is a good sign for the developmental brand, which is becoming an even bigger deal with every given show. I wouldn’t put more than six Takeovers throughout the year though and hopefully they don’t get watered down.

Do you like tying the Takeover series to the Big Four pay per views? What do you expect for the card? Let us know in the comments below.
