It’s a big comeback. There are certain wrestling shows that you know are going to be big deals. The Royal Rumble is going to have one of the more important matches of the year, Summerslam is going to be a stacked card, and WrestleMania will be the show of shows. However, there is another brand of shows which have a reputation of their own, and that is the case with something that is making a return.

NXT’s Takeover has become arguably the premiere show in all of American wrestling as far as quality, entertaining matches go. That is the kind of thing you don’t get very often and it makes Takeover such a special treat. It feels like the shows can do no wrong, which made it quite the shame when Takeover: Tampa had to be canceled due to the Coronavirus. Now though, we know the next entry in the series.

During this week’s NXT, Triple H, Road Dogg and Shawn Michaels announced that the next Takeover will take place on Sunday June 7. The show will be called NXT Takeover: In Your House, though no other details have been given. In Your House debuted on May 14, 1995 and included twenty seven events over just shy of four years. The final In Your House took place on February 14, 1999.

There is a history to the show. Check out the announcement plus some major moments from the event:

Opinion: This is something that could be interesting, mainly for the mixture of nostalgia and NXT greatness. I haven’t been as pleased with the weekly NXT shows since it went to two hours a week, but Takeover is the kind of thing that has the amazing reputation for a reason. I’m not sure what to expect on the card, but hopefully we’re in for another incredible show.
