That’s new. WWE is the largest wrestling promotion in the world and features three regular weekly television series. Between Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT, WWE has seven hours of television a week, but they have other shows on top of that. The company is often trying to add in new content and now they have announced another series, featuring John Cena.

The Roku network, by way of 411mania.com, has announced, WWE Recruits, a new eight part documentary series focusing on NIL prospects trying to make it to the WWE roster. The series will be produced by John Cena, who will also make appearances. WWE was filming footage for the series over WrestleMania 39 weekend in Los Angeles. There is no word on when the series will be debuting.

Opinion: This is a cool idea and something that could go somewhere if it is done well. There are all kinds of series designed around making it to the next level or getting a shot at a contract on a major roster. WWE has already done well enough with the program and some of the recruits are already appearing on NXT programming. Keep it up and the next generation could be right in front of them.
