There’s always room for one more. We have almost reached this year’s Elimination Chamber pay per view, meaning the Road To WrestleMania is in full bloom. With less than two days to go, it is time to get going on the pay per view card, though a good bit of it is already set. There is still time to put in one more match however and that is what WWE did this week.
There are a lot of titles in WWE and some of them are treated better than others. With so many things to cover and only so many wrestlers available to take those spots, you can run into some tricky pay per view situations. When it comes to the Women’s Tag Team Titles, it has often meant throwing a team together for a title shot. That is the case again at Elimination Chamber.
During this week’s edition of SmackDown, a Women’s Tag Team Title match was announced for Elimination Chamber, where champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler will defend against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks. This will be the first time that Banks and Belair will team together. Belair won this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble and may choose to challenge Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 37.
It was an interesting setup. Check out how we got to this match:
Opinion: This is a match I was expecting to see added to the card and that is not a bad thing. Above all else, the card is going to need something other than just the Elimination Chamber matches and this works as well as anything else. I wouldn’t even be shocked by a title change as WWE certainly likes trying their hand at the champions who have to face each other later and Belair and Banks could fit perfectly.
