Looks like he’s next. There are a lot of titles in WWE and that is the case for a very good reason. A title match is one of the easiest things you will see in wrestling because anyone can understand the concept. The referee holding up a title belt before the match tells the fans what they need to know: this is the prize that these people are fighting for. Now we know who will be doing that next.
This week on NXT, the commentary team explained that Roderick Strong wanted to challenge NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida to a title match. Later in the show, Kushida accepted the challenge, though a date for the match was not announced. Strong defeated Bobby Fish during the show while Kushida only appeared in a video later. Kushida and Strong have met in tag team matches and at live events but never in a televised singles match.

Opinion: This is hardly the biggest surprise as it has been set up for a few weeks now. Kushida vs. Strong should be a heck of a match when they are given the chance and that chance coming at Takeover 36 later this month would not surprise me. Kushida has held the title for a few months now and it might be time to hand it off to someone who is in a bigger story at the moment.
What are you expecting from the match? Should the title change hands? Let us know in the comments below.
