Add it to the card. With WrestleMania 37 almost a month ago, it is time to start moving forward on the WWE calendar. This might be a little bit easier said than done though, as the first pay per view after WrestleMania will be WrestleMania Backlash. As you might have guessed, the show will contain several matches dealing with the fallout from WrestleMania, including a newly announced rematch.
WWE.com has announced that Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley will defend her title against Asuka in a WrestleMania 37 rematch at WrestleMania Backlash on May 16. This will be their second rematch after Charlotte interfered in the first, causing a double disqualification. Ripley defeated Asuka to win the title during the second night of WrestleMania 37.
Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise in the world and that isn’t a bad thing. It makes sense to have these two face off again, though it also would not surprise me at all to see Charlotte added to the title match. There are still two episodes of Monday Night Raw left before the show and I can’t imagine Charlotte being left off of back to back pay per views. Odds are it changes, even if it doesn’t sound all that appealing.
How do you see the match going? Will Charlotte be added? Let us know in the comments below.
