And New Times Two! WWE And AEW Crown New Champions On The Same Night

It was a busy night. While WWE gets most of the attention in the wrestling world, it is not the only game in town. AEW is a major wrestling promotion in its own right and as a result, important moments that take place in the promotion are noteworthy events. This weekend saw a rare instance where the same interesting thing took place in both promotions on the same night.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On The Mend: Positive Injury Update On Mercedes Mone

A title change took place in both WWE and AEW on Saturday night. First up, the WWE Tag Team Titles changed hands at Fastlane when Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso defeated the Judgment Day to win the titles. This marks the first reign for the two as a team. Second, Ricky Starks and Big Bill defeated FTR to win the AEW Tag Team Titles on Collision. This is Bill’s first title in AEW, while Starks is a former FTW Champion, an unofficial title.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you do not see happen very often but it is certainly a case that is rather unique. It makes you realize that there are all kinds of things going on in wrestling and that is great to see. Both promotions feel like a big deal and it is awesome to see this many options for the fans, as neither show seemed boring. That’s not bad for a single night.
