They’re worth it. There are certain times in wrestling where you know what you’re seeing is special and going rather well. That appeared to be the case this week during Monday Night Raw when CM Punk, Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins had an in-ring segment. The segment was the highest viewed part of the show but it turns out things did not go entirely as planned. WWE had to make some changes, though they might have known it was coming.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the segment did run longer than expected and as a result, Ivy Nile vs. Candice LeRae ran short, as did DIY vs. New Day. Neither match had in-ring entrances and they combined to run less than ten minutes. However, WWE believed that the talking segment would go long and had plans in place to cut things out of the show if necessary. The company was said to be very pleased with the audience that the segment drew.

Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise and thankfully there was only so much lost. Cutting off entrances is not a big problem and LeRae’s match covered just about everything needed in the time that they had. Hopefully this isn’t something that needs to happen very often, but at least WWE seemed to have a plan in place to make it work after the big segment did not quite go as planned.
