Why they would do that. Introducing a new championship can mean a very new reality for any promotion. There are all kinds of titles which can be brought into a company, going all the way up to the top. WWE seems to be doing that again with the introduction of a brand new title, and now we know a lot more about how we got to this point, including who came up with the idea.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Triple H introduced the new World Heavyweight Championship, which will be the newest World Title for the company. The new champion will be crowed at Night Of Champions on May 27, but we don’t know much more about it. According to Sports Illustrated, the idea was Triple H’s, with Vince McMahon having no input. The idea was to have a World Champion on both brands, with Roman Reigns being drafted to one show or the other.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes the story a bit more interesting and I’m curious to see where it goes from here. Having a new title is a great thing, but at the same time there is only so much that can be done when Reigns is still the king of the whole place. How important is the title going to feel with Reigns still over everything? Hopefully WWE has a way around that, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
