It’s a good job for him. Retirement has always been weird in wrestling as it is not something that everyone can handle so easily. Some wrestlers will continue to pop up for years after the main part of their career is over for one more appearance. At the same time, some wrestlers do find other work in wrestling and now a WWE star may be doing just that.

Robert Roode has been out of action since June 2022 due to a pair of neck surgeries and it is not clear if or when he will be returning to the ring. However, according to PWInsider.com, Roode is expected to begin working at this weekend’s Summerslam event as a producer. Roode, 46 years old, will be starting with the Monday Night Raw brand in the same role next week.

Roode is a heck of a talent. Check out what he can do in the ring:

Opinion: It makes sense for Roode to move into this kind of a role, as having double neck surgeries is not the best sign for his future in the ring. If he cannot return to action, it makes sense to let him use his knowledge and skills to help coach other wrestlers. Roode is someone with a lot of value in wrestling and it is smart to put him I a new role under the WWE banner.
